The Masai Mara is a large park reserve in soutwest Kenya. It is named for the Masai people who inhabit the region, and the Mara River. It is on the border between Kenya and Tanzania. On the Tanzania side the park is known as the Serengeti. The area is famous for the variety of wildlife that can be seen while driving through the park. Each year in July the "Great Migration" of more than one million wildebeest occurs through this region.
