PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

LEVYTECH
August, 1995 to Present. PRESIDENT
Consulting on all forms of sample preparation including new strategies like supercritical fluid extraction; solid phase extraction and enhanced liquid extraction; and on gas chromatography including state-of-the-art methodologies for high resolution separations and for field analysis. Also involves organizing and conducting training courses on supercritical fluid extraction, supercritical fluid chromatography, sample preparation strategies, capillary gas chromatography, and petroleum analysis. Also involved in delivering lectures on the current status of supercritical fluid technology developments. Also involved in consulting on specific petroleum applications like simulated distillation, hydrocarbon class fractionation, PIANO analysis, PONA analysis and refinery gas analysis.

Suprex Corporation
April, 1989 to August, 1995. VICE PRESIDENT OF TECHNOLOGY AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Responsible for managing the applications support area which included customer training, technical support, customer instrument demonstration, and research associated with various aspects of supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE). Also involved in the official technical representation of the company at scientific symposia/conferences by delivering lectures and in scientific journals by refereed publications. Also responsible for supporting instrumentation manufacturing and engineering for technical soundness and product refinements. Specific research areas included: on-line interfacing of SFE to gas chromatography (GC), on-line interfacing of SFE/SFC, off-line collection mechanics in SFE, modifier technology in SFE and SFC, alternate supercritical fluids in SFE, multidimensional SFE and SFC, application related analyzers (polymer, petroleum and environmental) , selectivity enhancements in SFE, solubility studies in supercritical fluids, SFE and SFC parameter optimization, and new product development.

BP America R&D
1979 to March, 1989. PROJECT LEADER
Responsible for research and development of methods in the areas of supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), and capillary gas chromatography (GC) for the analytical characterization of petroleum steams. Also responsible for coordinating the status of corporate analytical research in chromatography. Also coordinated troubleshooting and solved special problems in chromatography (GC, LC or SFC) company wide for petroleum and polymer applications. Other analytical activities included: headspace GC, GC/MS, NMR, pyrolysis GC, environmental GC analysis, BASIC computer programming, simulated distillation by GC, preparation of capillary columns, multidimensional LC, LC-diode array detection, and servicing chromatographic instrument (GC, LC and/or SFC).

Specific achievements included the development of the first on-line interface between SFC and GC, development of on-line interfacing between SFE and GC, the first systematic study of modifier technology in SFC, and the development of simulated distillation GC methods.
